Railway Board Chairman V.K. Yadav has said that Railways will start conducting a computer-based examination for the recruitment on about 1.40 lakh posts from December 15. He said that about 2.42 crore application forms have been received for these posts.
According to the news, these 35208 posts are in the non-technical popular category (NTPC) such as guard, office clerk, commercial clerk, and other posts. About 1663 posts belong to different and ministerial categories like stenographer etc. and 1,03,769 posts belong to group-one, which includes track maintenance, pointsman, etc.
