Due to the lockdown
Due to the lockdown, a large number of people have become unemployed due to the shutdown of work all over the country. They are going back to their hometowns because daily workers are not getting work. Due to fewer means of transportation, a large number of workers are traveling hundreds of kilometers on foot to reach their homes.
With a view to providing employment to workers coming from outside, the UP government has run many schemes. A large number of people are being given work under the MNREGA scheme.
